HOW TO GET TO PADOVA (PADUA)


By car

• Motorway Venezia - Milano (A4)
exit Padova Est if you are arriving from Venice - exit Padova Ovest if you are arriving from Milan

• Motorway Bologna - Padova (A13)
exit Padova Sud

ATTENTION: in Padua city centre there is a ZTL zone, an area in which car traffic is restricted. From 8am to 8pm no car traffic can enter the central streets, unless the car has a special permit allowing it. By train

Padova is both on the Venezia-Milano-Torino and on the Venezia-Bologna-Roma lines (many trains are available). In Padova the train station is quite close to the conference venue, a 10-15 minutes walk if you do not have heavy luggage. Train schedules can be consulted at the Trenitalia website.

From Padua Railway Station to the Department:
• by taxi : max. 5 minutes, tel:049651333,
• by bus (APS): departures every 5-10 minutes, bus no. 5 - 6 - 7 - 9 and 24.

Airports

  • VENICE: Marco Polo Airport (Tessera), is the nearest one to Padua. From this airport you can reach Padua in the following ways:

- by bus (SITA) from Venice Airport to Padua Train Station and vice versa, every 30 minutes from 6am to 11pm on working-days and approximately every hour on holidays. The ride takes approximately one hour (depending on traffic conditions). The final stop in Padova is near the railway station, just a short walk away from the conference venue.

- by train, first take a regular bus from Venice Airport to Mestre Train Station and then a train from Mestre toPadua (it takes approx. 40 minutes).

  • VERONA: Valerio Catullo Airport (Villafranca Veronese). A shuttle service connects Verona airport with Verona Train Station. From Verona trains to Padua every 2 hours during the day, it takes about 2 hours)
  • TREVISO: Treviso Airport. A shuttle service connects Treviso airport with Treviso Train Station. From Treviso trains to Padua every 2 hours during the day, it takes about 2 hours)

From all airports you can reach Padua by door-to-door collective minibus: will take you from the Airport to any address in Padua, or vice versa. Reservations at least 24 hours in advance are compulsory. They can be made by phone, fax, e-mail or web.
